The lost world

When I was child I remember my grandmother with a big cardboard box plenty of old pictures. These photos showed people, parties, sites… souvenirs of a life. She had showed them because she didn't want to lose a remembrance of these people, mainly death, and what did pass; and she showed us, her grandsons, because we will survive her and with us the remembrance survives too.

I liked to see these pictures. They put me in sites out from my reach, and sometimes I think that generate me the interest for histories of sites, buildings, roads, anonymous people and how a current thing can be arrived in front me today. Luckily people recorded most important events since immemorial times (never better said), but obviously ordinary facts, people or sites must be omitted and their remembrance lost forever. Official history only talks about few facts, principals which were making the continuous of it, but doesn’t talk about the world where these facts were happening. The box plenty of pictures, albums of photos, particulars letters, tools and other things used or saved for these people allow us recreate how was this world. As a logically how most near temporally is with us most of these things can arrive to us, and how much near temporally are to us better and cheaper technology have people from recorded and more ordinary records arrive us too.

 

Today I don’t know where pictures are. If I want to show these at a new generation I couldn’t. People, relations and other histories will lose when I’m not here. But it isn’t dramatic in fact. Before my grandparents there were other grandparents which remember had lost in the dark of the time. History remembers few facts of the humans, as we go back in time facts are dissolved.  Official history arrives until 3,000 before Crist; 5,000 years in front the 100,000 or 140,000 years of human existence; in summary we know nothing of ours history. Really our past is a lost world.
Currently we live in the world of record. Images sound and data will be testimonies of our world. Things have a time for to be if we like or no, and these record will be the latest thing that remain of its existence. Landscapes, cities or sees aren’t eternals. Mountains down and others up as passes the time, even the Sun has a life, and slowly but without stop grown its radiation until become a great red star and it will death after. Relativity, the theory of Einstein, shows space and time join, in fact time is other dimension where currently we travel without free of move. Things happen in a site and one time, and the lack of move freedom make impossible to turn back to the past; so what did it never come back.

In the film of NASA it shows a polar landscape that never will be. Global warming is melting ice and changed this landscape. But without ice melting landscape also changes; winds, glacier movements and other erosive forces are modeling landscape day by day. Nevertheless high temperatures are doing the greatest change in the human history in this land.  This film and others will be a remembrance of a lost world that never will be even when cool come back.
But in present always rest something of the past and I don’t mean the pictures. We are here because past did happen. And what we are doing today will be propagating at the future. Future is consequence of today as today is due to the past. We aren’t guess for to see how will become the world, but our actions, global or individual, fixed how will be it. It’s our responsibility what new world will find the next generations, the same way greater things and deficiencies of current world are due to ours parents. However if our generation isn’t responsible of how is current word, this don’t exonerate us of the blame that we don’t arrange. Our duty with our specie is left at next generations one world better that we found.
 

ISS: What does it feel like to fly over planet Earth? 

We can make mistakes and leave a worse world due the ignorance and error. But what we can’t leave worse because we are greed and miser. If we have a world is thanks the generosity of previous generations and we will pay their generosity with gives ours successors the better world than can do. Our time and our world will pass but news worlds will came again; the finish of our world, and the anterior worlds which was being, is the obligatory steep for the evolution of our specie, life in general, planet and universe.
Our world is finish but we must see this as an apocalyptical prediction but a natural consequence with past of time. And in front of this true we can get two aptitudes: to destroy or to work for a new world better.
